The Advanced Placement (AP) program is designed to deliver college level course work to high school students. This will enable them to understand and prepare for the rigor of university level work. The AP courses at St. John’s begin in 10th grade with AP US History and continue through the 11th and 12th grade in science, arts, history, and math. The AP exams are given in the first two weeks of May each year and students receive a score of 1 through 5 based on their success. Many colleges and universities in the US and around the world offer credit to students whose scores are deemed satisfactory. All of St. John’s AP courses successfully pass the AP Course Audit each year, and teachers regularly undergo AP training.
