Pre-Kindergarten 3 & 4
At the forefront of the Pre-K curriculum is the goal for our youngest students to love the school experience, while having opportunities to grow socially with other children their age. Students at this age enjoy many activities that are hands-on, while building on other crucial academic areas like vocabulary and fluency in English and math skills, gaining awareness of the world around them, and positive self-expression. |
Our curriculum provides for many opportunities for hands-on experiences that nurture fine and gross motor skills while learning thematic content. Through themes, emergent speakers build vocabulary and fluency as a result of relevant content. Math skills are also taught thematically, improving mastery of skills through class routines, manipulatives and arts and crafts. Because lessons are thematic, students are exposed to content areas they may encounter in later grades with more rigor.
Both individualized and small group instruction are at the core of the Pre-K curriculum. Daily class routines provide familiarity for students to be independent learners through music and meaningful play. Availability of technology provide interactive and updated experiences for students to learn thematic lessons. Even at this young age, students have extra curricular courses like physical education, music, religion and library that make for a well-rounded school experience.
